By the introduction of Malay/Old English Game crosses, and with the skill of British fanciers, the Modern Game fowl was evolved as a pure fanciers exhibition bird in contrast to the pit Games used for cock fighting. The Malay Cross was used to improve “reach” and for tighter feathering.
